Currenty, thirteen young men have graduated from high school through the Micah Project's programs.   These courageous young men, who seemed destined to live and die on the streets of Tegucigalpa, have begun their college studies.  At the same time, we have identified other young boys who desperately need the love and support that the Micah Project offers.  Please take a moment to read below how you can continue to support these young men in 2008!

1.  Micah House Operational budget:  We need $7,500 a month to run our group home, educational project, library, staff salaries and to meet our administrative needs!  We have twelve boys living in the Micah house in 2008.  Much of this budget is met by individual supporters.  We ask you to prayerfully consider a monthly or quarterly donation to help meet our monthly budget.

2.  Leadership House Operational Budget  We will need approximately $ 3,500 a month to run our Leadership house in 2008.   This includes upkeep for the facilities, our leadership educational curriculum, and the funds to support the young men in their day-to-day needs.  We plan to have eight young men living in the Leadership house full time in 2008, while those who are studying abroad will spend their vacation months there.  Please click here to read more information about the Leadership House!

3.  Scholarship Fund:   We now have thirteen young men in universities throughout the US, Mexico and Central America.  Darwin Pavon, our first scholarship recipient, graduated from Zamorano University in 2007 as an agricultural engineer.   In 2008, we will need to raise at least $130,000 in order to support these young men as they continue their college studies.   As the young men receive external scholarships, we will roll extra scholarship donations into a fund with the purpose of creating an endowment.  Please click here to read more about the scholarship fund!

4.  Outreach Ministries:  The Micah boys and staff will continue our outreach ministries in three areas in 2008:  a.) the Villa Linda Miller community; b.) the families of our boys, and c.) the children on the streets and at the city dump.   These things include home schooling programs, spiritual outreach, a library, and programs for children and teens.  Donations of Spanish books of all genres in good condition are appreciated.  We will need approximately $1,500 per month to sustain these important outreach ministries.

5.  Missionaries:  We are looking for faith-filled people who are willing to serve as missionaries for the Micah Project!  In 2005, we are looking for couples to serve as group home parents for both the Micah House and the Leadership House.  Additionally, we are looking for missionaries to serve as teachers and to participate in our outreach ministries.  Please contact us at micahproject@hotmail.com if you are interested in serving!

Please indicate on your check if your support is for a specific item, such as the Scholarship fund.

It is our hope that, as you support us, that you will also be blessed by what our Lord is doing in these boys’ lives and ministries!

The Central Presbyterian Church of St. Louis, Missouri, which supported the Micah Project while it was still just a dream, continues to flexibly and graciously support us.  One way it aids us greatly is by accepting and recording donations for us and helping to communicate with supporters.  We especially thank Central Missions Director Randy Mayfield and his assistant Cari Lowe for their time, energy and love!

The Micah Project is a non-profit organization with its 501(c)3 charter held in the state of Missouri.  Letters for tax purposes will be sent out in the first quarter of every year.

You will receive a tax-exempt receipt upon request.
