The young men of the Micah Project do street ministry on a weekly basis, reaching out to the children and youth who are living in much the same situation as our boys once did.   As they reach out to these lost children, they try to live the words of I Peter: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.”    As our young men become more like Christ in their daily walk, they desire to use their gifts for the benefit of others and the glory of God.   Above:  Darwin, Arle, Cristofer, Auner, Fredy and Maycol hand out food to some street youths by the national soccer stadium in Tegucigalpa.

Another aspect of our young men's outreach is the city dump.  We have been involved in the dump since 2003, ministering to the children through formal education and spiritual formation.  This year, Fredy and Marvin have taken the lead every Saturday by coordinating special activities for the children in our programs.  Fredy spends several hours every Friday night preparing a meal to take to the children.  Several of the Micah guys head out to the dump on their own on Saturday morning to show God's love to the children there!

Marvin has a great heart for ministry.  He is one of the leaders of "Los Micah Boys", the group of guys that recently produced an album.  He is enthusiastic about all of the outreach ministries we do!   Above, he plays with one of the dump kids on a Saturday morning.

Inauguration day!  Two youth groups from the U.S. helped to build a home in the Villa Linda Miller project for David's family (see a picture of David below).  During a recent visit to Central America, Micah board member David Miller had the honor of turning over the keys to Telma during a special inauguration ceremony.

A good group of people gathered for the inauguration of David's family's home in August.   Here, folks from the Villa Linda Miller community and the Micah Project tour the new home.  The retaining wall seen here was the last aspect of the home to be finished.  We thank the youth groups from the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and the Greentree Community Church for making this dream come true for Telma and David's young brother and sister!

Speaking of inaugurations, the same day we turned over the keys to David's mom, we inaugurated the first phase of the Villa Linda Miller school building!  Thanks to the youth group of the Central Presbyterian Church, the first two classrooms of the school are now in use!  Above, Michael Miller asks the VLM school children to dream about the next five classrooms which will soon be built!

Darwin Pavon is nearly finished with his junior year at Zamorano University in Honduras as he nears his goal of becoming an agricultural engineer.  Here, he pauses to chat with a calf on Zamorano's model farm.  Zamorano is the premier agricultural university in the Americas and draws students from many countries.

Reunited!  Our five guys who are studying in the U.S. gathered in St. Louis in August.  Here, Jarvin, Oscar, Olvin, Tino and Marvin hold a cake presented to them at a "welcome back" picnic sponsored by Central Presbyterian and Greentree church in St. Louis.  Jarvin is a freshman at Houston Baptist University, while Oscar is beginning his studies at Missouri Baptist University (MBU).  The other three are sophomores at MBU this year!

While many of our grads have gone north, David has chosen to go south...to Costa Rica!  David is studying at the Universidad Latina in San Jose.  On a recent visit, Micah Project director Michael Miller and his father David got to spend a couple of days with David.  Here, both Davids stand in front of the national post office in downtown San Jose.
