Jeferson's Photo Biography

Above:  As a 20 year-old in January 2009, Jeferson has a good heart and a quick smile.  He finished the tenth grade in 2008 and will beginning a technical program in 2009.

Above:  Jeferson poses in the Villa Linda Miller community center in February, 2006.  Jeferson has grown a lot in the last couple of years!  In 2006, he is studying at the seventh grade level in the mornings in our home schooling program.  He practices soccer a couple afternoons a week.

Jeferson entered the Micah Project in January 2004.  He is the half-brother of Miguel, one of our older boys.  We met him and his family in late 2003, when they reestablished contact with Miguel.  Jeferson comes from an extremely poor family of six.  He has spent time on and off the streets, begging or looking for trash to recycle and sell.  Although he was fifteen when he came to the Micah Project, he had only completed the second grade in school.  This photo was taken on the first day we met Jeferson in October 2003 when he was fourteen years old.

This is the only photo of Jeferson as a young child.  It was taken by a man who went from neighborhood to neighborhood, taking photos of children on the rocking horse and selling them to the families.   Jeferson, holding his youngest brother Jason, is approximately nine years old in the photo.

This photo was taken in August 2004.  The Micah Project and our supporting churches helped build a new home and donated furniture for Jeferson and Miguel's mother, Blanca.  This is the first photo taken in their new home!  Jeferson (white shirt) sits with him mom, his sister Lourdes and his smallest brother Jason.

Here, Jeferson poses with his older brother Miguel and Project director Michael Miller.  It has been very good for Miguel to have his younger brother in the project and he has matured a lot as an older brother!

Birthday:  December 9, 1988
