|
| Jarvin celebrated his high school graduation on November 13, 2004. It was a huge event in his life! Here, he stands with his sister, brother-in-law and brother Darwin. |
|
| Jarvin was on the streets at an early age, escaping a home of miserable poverty and violence. Before coming to the Micah Project in January 2000, Jarvin lived in another orphanage for several years. There, he was able to begin his schooling and finish through the sixth grade. The home in which he was living closed down in 1999. Jarvin has studied theater at a local cultural center for four years. He is the lead in many of the dramas that the Micah boys present. As an 18 year-old, Jarvin is a true leader in the Micah House. In 2001, Jarvin lead his younger brother Darwin to give up a life of drug abuse and to join the Micah Project. He continues to be a stabilizing influence in his younger brother's life. In 2003, Jarvin teaches third and fourth grade at a local soup kitchen in the afternoons, while studying at the 11th grade level in our home-schooling program.
