Danilo!

Danilo moved back to Tegucigalpa after graduating from the Seminario Biblico Centroamericano.   He is currently working as the group home coordinator (and parent) for a group home run by the Manuelito Project here in Tegucigalpa.  He is planning to start a degree in Educational Administration in the fall of 2011.

Danilo moved to Monterrey Mexico (pictured above) in January to begin a music ministry program at Instituto CanZion.  The rigorous two year program will prepare Danilo for a life of ministry and service.  He has enjoyed getting to know the beautiful and modern city of Monterrey.  Click here to hear an interview of his experience.  (Picture taken in January 2008).

Danilo is one of the first young men to enter the Micah Project.  He has a great heart for ministry, which he shares through teaching and music.  He is currently in college, studying education.   Above, Danilo hugs a cousin on the Caribbean coast of Honduras in January 2007.

Meet Danilo.  He and his older brother along with two friends left the coast of Honduras when he was only seven years old and walked to Tegucigalpa, a distance of 280 kilometers.  Of the four, Danilo was the only one who admitted himself into a center for street children and who stayed in the program for several years.   The determination and self-discipline that this type of staying power demanded has seeped into other areas of Danilo's life.  Our preacher-in-the-making, Danilo, by his own initiative, goes into his room daily to read his Bible and exercise for at least an hour.    Danilo wants to be a teacher and a Christian musician when he grows up, but he isn't waiting for adulthood to start preparing!   In addition to his daily reading, he spends a major portion of his free time practicing guitar and voice.

In 2002 and 2003, Danilo has organized our children's ministries in Villa Linda Miller and the city dump.  He is extremely dedicated to his ministry!

In 2006, Danilo completed his freshman year of college at the National University of Honduras (UNAH).  He is studying teaching.

As with several of the Micah boys, we met Danilo at another program for street children where he had lived for several years.  He was a rambunctious child, and it has been a joy to see him mature in his faith and intellect since being at the Micah Project.  The above photo was taken in 1999.
