Both Charlie and his older brother Daniel grew up at an orphanage in Tegucigalpa. In 2006, Daniel joined the Micah Project so that we could help him finish his high school education. At that time, we began to get to know Charlie as well. Since 2008, we have given Charlie a scholarship to study at a Christian high school here in Tegucigalpa; he graduated in November 2009. In 2010, Charlie began to work toward a degree in dental surgery at the Catholic University of Tegucigalpa. He is a gifted student and also multi-talented in other ways: playing the marimba and trumpet, and entertaining our younger guys with magic tricks. |
