Welcome to February/March 2005 Photo Album!

God's timing is truly amazing!  Marvin's grandmother died in late January.  Her passing was glorious in some ways and sad in others.  Now, a few weeks after his grandmother's death, Marvin has been reunited with his mom for the first time since he was just a few months old!  In early March, Marvin's cousin, who lives near Marvin's mom, showed up at his father's house.  He knew where Marvin's mom lived and offered to take him to see her.

The following day, Marvin made the trip.   It was an eight hour trip, four hours on paved roads and four hours on difficult mountain passes.  He finally arrived at her house at 10:30 p.m.  When Marvin introduced himself, his mom, Reina, stared at him in shock for several minutes...she couldn't believe it!  Once she got over her shock, she invited them into her mountainside house and woke up Marvin's five half brothers!  They spent a long time talking, even though there's no electricity in the house and the family usually goes to bed with the sun at 7:00!  Marvin spent the night with them, and they spent most of the next morning talking!  He also helped his newly found brothers milk their cows and make juice out of sugarcane.    All of the neighboring families showed up at the house to meet Marvin.  When they got ready to leave, his mom didn't want him to go!  We praise the Lord that Marvin has finally been able to know his mom!

In February, Juan Carlos (left) joined the Micah "band of brothers"!  This highly intelligent thirteen year old quickly made friends with the other Micah boys.  Here, he shares a meal at KFC with his new big brother, Miguel!

Eryck, the youngest Micah boys, turned thirteen on March 3!  The only word out of his mouth the entire month before was "bicicleta".    Well, that's what he got for his birthday!  He was so excited that we thought he'd sleep with his bike that night!  He also invited his mom and his six brothers and sisters to celebrate his birthday with him.

It's great to see Danilo in scrubs!  He and the other boys assisted our dental team, which made its annual trip from Houston in February.  Eighteen people came down to do dentistry in Villa Linda Miller and at the Hogar Amor y Esperanza.  After so many years, of faithful ministry, this group is truly an important part of the Micah family!

Happy birthday, Oscar!  Oscar turned nineteen while our dental team was in Honduras.  At their thank you dinner on their last evening, we surprised Oscar with mariachis!  They serenaded him with several traditional birthday songs!
