We have begun in earnest the remodeling of the Leadership House.  Our first big task is to update all of the electrical wiring and the plumbing.  Pedro has been a good worker in this process.  Here, he chips away at the wall to expose the wiring.

In August and September, the boys have been working very hard in their classes as they wind down their school year (the Honduran school year ends in early November).  Above, eleventh grader Jarvin works on a Chemistry problem in the Micah House library/classroom.  Five of the boys work at the eleventh grade level in our home-schooling program.     ~ August, 2003

Olvin had his 17th birthday on August 28.  Here Erin, Freddy, Lauri, Becca and Edwin watch as he blows out his candles!

Above, Danilo, with his usual enthusiasm and energy when it comes to ministry, teaches the kids at the dump a new game.

Recently, the boys have discovered stacks of old photos of the beginnings of the Micah Project.  They had a great time looking at themselves in their younger days!  Above is a picture taken in 2000 of our first group of Micah boys.  Back row:  Miguel, Danilo, Marvin, Harvin; Front row:  David, Olvin and Cristino.   It is amazing to think how far these boys have come since joining the Micah Project in 2000!

This is another one of the "historic" Micah photos.  Pictured above in 2000, a small Miguel and a small Tino share a happy moment with Aminah, who helped to found the Micah Project and spent more than a year with us (and who is currently a board member!).  For more old photos (thanks to Tino's excellent scanning), check out our recently updated Biography pages.
