Two mornings a week, the boys are receiving a practical carpentry course from two master carpenters. The boys are learning to design projects, buy the wood, and carry the projects through to completion. So far, they have made two bookshelves! Here, the teachers work with Miguel on the finer points of cutting wood. ~ December, 2001 |

| Above: The boys spent a week in December painting a warehouse that will be turned into the printing press for "Maestro en Casa" the home schooling program in which they are involved. We're still debating what they painted more: the warehouse or themselves! ~ December 8, 2001 |

| Our boys are also helping out at our new community library! Twice a month, we have a program for kids based on the joys of reading. Five of our boys are on the library committee, which is responsible for planning these events. Here, a young library patron enjoys "Where's Waldo" at the Micah House library! |
