The Micah Project continues to do street ministry several days a week among the street kids in the market district of Tegucigalpa.   It has been a huge blessing to get to know these kids and teens and to try to speak hope into their lives.   Above: Jose Daniel eats a burrito brought to him by the Micah street team.  This is one of the boys that we would love to get into the Micah Project!  Below: Cesar, a street teen, take a hit on his bottle of yellow glue.

The newest Micah boy!  Twelve year old Axel joined the Micah Project in September.  We had met him in the market through our street ministry and realized that he would be a perfect candidate for the Micah Project!  Axel had been in the state run orphanage for a time, but after escaping, ended up on the streets.  Above:  Michael talks with Axel after running into him in the main square of Tegucigalpa.  Below: Axel's first day at the Micah house!  In this pic, he gets hugs from Becca Haver and our intern David.

Randy Mayfield brought his annual "vision trip" to Honduras in September from the Central Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.  The purpose of the trip is to introduce church members to our ministries over a long weekend.  This group was exposed to a lot in just a couple of days!  Above: the group has Saturday lunch at La Casa de las Abuelas, restaurant in the Valle de Angeles community, a colonial town just outside of  Tegucigalpa.

David came home in September during his third year of classes at the Universidad Latina in Costa Rica.  He has been studying very hard as he approaches his goal of graduating with a degree in psychology.  Above: David visits his mom Telma at the house we built for her in the Villa Linda Miller community during his September trip to Honduras.

As Maycol and Jefferson work through their tenth grade year, they show off their science project, an exploding volcano.

High school senior Marvin Morazan laughs with his mom during a September home visit.  Although Marvin did not live with his mom as a child, they have been renewing their relationship in the past couple of years.   Here, they stand in front of Marvin's stepfather's pulperia, or mini-market.

Each of our high school seniors undertake a year-long service project.  This year, Oscar chose to work with Tony, a young man from the Villa Linda Miller community that became a paraplegic due to a diving accident a couple of years ago.  Oscar home-schooled Tony and helped him get through the seventh grade curriculum.  Because Tony has limited use of his fingers, he types his answers out on a computer that we donated to him rather than writing them by hand.

Our two mini-rappers!  Marvin and Wilmer show off their outfits as the newest Los Micah Boys!  Both of these young men left the streets last year to join the Micah Project.  It's exciting to see the newest generation of Micah boys!
