February brought the annual visit of our dental team from Houston Texas. This was a special year for the team! Last year, they formed a foundation called the Honduras Dental Project. Their main mission is to build a clinic for the Villa Linda Miller community! They sent an engineer down last fall to oversee the beginnings of the construction. This picture shows the result! While the team was here, the Villa Linda Miller community had a special ceremony to express their gratitude for the new building. Here, the children of Villa Linda Miller say "gracias" in front of the soon-to-be-completed clinic!

During the week of the dental brigade, the Villa Linda Miller community put together a ceremony to thank the dentists for their years of service in the community. Here, Michael Miller translates for Bill Cunningham and Kim Martin, two of the founders of the Honduras Dental Project. Their vision and hard work is making it possible for Villa Linda Miller's two hundred families to have a state-of-the-art clinic!

The Micah guys enjoy assisting the dentists and hygienists while they work at Villa Linda Miller. Here, Oscar Amaya helps Abby clean some teeth! Do we have the makings of a future dentist?

Marvin, who loves music and children, combined his two talents by helping out with the Vacation Bible School run by the dental team at Villa Linda Miller. Here, Marvin holds some of the kids spellbound by his music!

One of the men from the Villa Linda Miller community built a scale model of the village and put it on display the week of the dental brigade. Here, some of the VLM kids point out their houses on the model. The brigade worked in the community center, which is the long white building on the lower section of the model.

February is usually a warm and sunny month in Tegucigalpa, the beginning of our annual dry season. We celebrated the warmth by taking the guys on a trip to a park about an hour from Tegucigalpa. Here, Miguel helps his brother Jeferson mount a water buffalo. It doesn't look that easy!

February is also the beginning of our school year, which runs from February through November. The guys are always very excited to start school after a long vacation period. Here, they pose in front of the Micah House on the first day of school, sporting their new uniforms.

Our assistant director, Becca Haver, worked hard in February to find scholarships for three of the kids from the city dump to attend a Christian school in Tegucigalpa. What a miracle that Rene, Mayra and Karla, all of whom have spent most of their childhood at the city dump, can now get a great education! Maycol, one of the young men from the Micah Project (second from left) is also attending the Penzotti Christian School this year. Here, the four students pose in their school uniforms! It is a huge change for Rene, who stands to the left. Below is a picture of Rene taken while he was working at the city dump. What a change!

Don't you wish February would be swimming weather in your part of the world??? A family from our church invited our young men for a pool party on the last day of February. Here, Pedro (right) and his brother Rolando enjoy the refreshing water.

Poor Tino is not exactly enjoying pool weather during his sophomore year at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. February was a cold and snowy month. Tino looks like he's ready to keep moving after taking this photo on the main quad of the campus.
