Erick's Photo Biography

Erick left the Micah Project in May of 2009 as a 17 year old due to a relapse of his drug addiction, which he has been fighting for several years.  Please pray for Erick as struggles daily with his addiction.

Erick came to live at the Micah Project in December 2004.   We met Erick in July of 2003 when we were painting the exterior of the Micah house.  He came walking up our street hauling a machete, offering to cut weeds for people for a few cents pay.  He offered to help us paint the house and he spent the rest of the week with us.  After that week, Erick began to spend a few hours every day at the Micah House for the next several months until we accepted him into the project in December.

When we found Erick's family, which includes his parents and seven children, they were desperately poor, living in a tiny, broken-down shack that clings to a hillside not far from the Micah house.   They often go through several days at a time without anything to eat.   In 2005, we built a beautiful new home for Erick's mom in our Villa Linda Miller community.

Erick loves the outdoors and was able to go camping several times in 2006.  Here, he "borrows" a boat at a rest stop along the biggest lake in Honduras, Lago Yojoa.  (July 2006).

Here, Erick celebrates his 12th birthday at the Micah house!  He is holding his younger brother Christian             and is standing by his brother Geovany and sister Erika.

Erick sits by Micah missionary Becca Haver.  Becca has been a tremendous influence on Erick's life and has been able to give him the nurturing that he had never before received. (2005)

Erick is smart and he is usually able to come out of the typical teenage scuffles unscathed.  Here, he wrestles with Jerson to see who will be the victor!  (2004)

Erick's Birthday:  March 3, 1992
