David moved to San Jose, Costa Rica in January, 2006 to begin his college studies at the Universidad Latina.  He is now well on his way through his freshman year!  Click here to learn how you can support David in his college studies.

Project director Michael Miller and his father visited David in San Jose, Costa Rica in July 2006.  They visited David's university and the family with whom he is living.  Here, they pose in a plaza in downtown San Jose.

In January, 2006, David began to pack up his room at the Leadership House.  For more than a year, he had been planning to go to Costa Rica to begin his college studies.  At 4:30 in the morning in on a Thursday in early January, we took him to the bus station for the 18 hour ride to San Jose.  Although David looked nervous, he said that he knew that God was going with him to Costa Rica!

Above:  Since April, 2002 David has taught Bible classes three days a week to a group of two-to-four year olds!  He is doing this in our ministry for the children and teens of Villa Linda Miller and Villa Madrid.  As well as their teacher, the kids also treat David as a human jungle gym!  In 2003, David is studying at the eleventh grade level in our home-schooling program. ~June, 2002

Danilo (left) and David (right) met in 1995 at a crisis center for street children.  They have been friends now for eight years!

While in his previous orphanage, David began to take swimming lessons.  He still loves swimming!     The above picture was taken at a pool in 1997.

Above:  David (purple shirt) is pictured with two other street kids and a "street educator" from a local crisis center.  David and his older brother left their deeply impoverished home when David was six years old.   David spent much time on the streets and on drugs before entering into a crisis center for street kids.  He lived in that center for three years before joining the Micah Project in January, 2002.  In addition to his ministry with young children, David studies at the ninth grade level and practices swimming.             Photo:  ~ 1994
