| In 2011, Yeison is a 17-year-old young man who is maturing quickly. A tenth-grader in our home-schooling program, Yeison (pronounced Jason) is active in his church youth group and plays soccer on a local team. Above: Yeison smiles for the first day of classes in February 2011! |

At fifteen, Yeison (pronounced Jason) began studying in the seventh grade at the Micah Project in February 2009. He joined the project officially in June of that year. As a child, Yeison bounced around between family members: sometimes living with his alcoholic father, sometimes with his mother and five siblings, and sometimes with his grandmother, who sells tortillas by the national stadium. Yeison has found a much-needed stability at the Micah Project! |
