On April 27, Oscar Izaguirre became our third young man to graduate from Missouri Baptist University. We are so proud of all that Oscar was able to accomplish while at MBU! Not only did he get good grades while studying Business Administration, he also played soccer on MBU's team and worked part time at an on-campus job. Oscar will move back to Honduras on June 12. Above: The Micah Project was able to fly Oscar's mom Elsenora (left) from Honduras to St. Louis for Oscar's graduation. Oscar's dad Virgilio was also able to travel from his home in Miami for the big event. Above: Oscar's family poses with Micah board member Dianne Becker by the Mississippi river in downtown St. Louis. Below: At Oscar's graduation party on May 1 at Drew and Meg Smith's house, many of our long-time supporters were able to congratulate Oscar on his accomplishment. Our longest-time supporters, the Gleaners Sunday School class, gathered at the event for a group photo. The Gleaners, led by Neal Nielsen (seated on the right) have been an enormous force behind the Micah Project since 1999 through their love, prayers and support. Oscar's victory is their victory as well!

On April 23, 114 golfers and many
volunteers gathered at the Kingwood Country Club north of Houston for the
Second Annual Charles Alford Memorial Golf Tournament to support the Micah
Project. The day started out with threatening, low-lying clouds and rain,
but by tee-time, the course was awash in spring sunshine! Thanks to our
volunteers, sponsors and golfers, the day was a huge success! Above:

support the golf tournament.

| Wilmer is one of our most dedicated and hard-working students. Here, this fourth grader thinks long and hard as he completes an April Science test. |

|
| Bob Bewley has been a long time board member, treasurer, supporter and friend to the Micah Project. In April, he came down to Honduras to deliver some sewing supplies and to catch up with our boys and staff. Here, he stands with Micah graduate Tino in front of the Micah House. |

|
| The Micah Moms continue coming to the Micah house on weekdays to practice all of the new sewing skills they have learned. In April, Bob Bewley brought down a whole load of new supplies to keep this ministry to the boys' moms new and fresh. |

Micah chaplain John Bell's family came for a visit from Kentucky in the beginning of April. In this picture his sister Caroline and mom Carol serve food to street youth at our Friday night soccer outreach. Pictured with them is Sage (far left), who is a teacher in Tegucigalpa, and Rebecca Bell, far right, our director of operations. |

| Our two newest boys, Miguel Angel (left) and Axel (right) have been doing very well adjusting from street life to Micah life. They really enjoyed helping Becca make "bread" (more commonly known to us as waffles). |
|
|
| For spring break we took the boys
camping in a very small mountain village where Miguel and Edwin's
grandmother lives. Above: Miguel is excited to be out in the country,
although he seems to be enjoying the experience more than the poor calf! Below: Grandma Gloria is a mountain woman through and through, cutting sugar cane and picking coffee in the fields around her village to support herself. During our camping trip, she happily cooked all of our meals for us on her wood burning stove that she constructed herself. |

|
| Above: On our camping trip, a few of us hiked higher up the mountain to
visit Edwin's paternal grandfather, a coffee farmer for the last half
century. He is truly an inspiring man: he has never been to
school but has nearly the entire Bible memorized! Below: Miguel helps his little sister, Rosa, go for a dip in the river by his grandmother's house. |

| Above: One of the boys' favorite activities continues to be weekend
trips to Rio Abajo out near Villa Linda Miller. There the boys enjoy
playing soccer and spending hours playing in any of three swimming pools.
Miguel and Pedro Luis show off their techniques as they jump into the water. Below: A Tegucigalpa traffic jam! |

| Brian Wiggs has done a great job of getting the Micah technical school up and running. He has taught his students welding techniques and they are currently building a section on our terrace for a carpentry workshop. Here, his students work together to finish building a loft for the Leadership house. |
