2011. In 2012, Axelito studies in the fourth grade. He
continues to have a sweet personality and loves to sing songs to
the Lord. God has accomplished so much in this young life
since he joined us in 2010! |

Axelito was basically born and raised in the streets. He never knew his dad, and his mom was killed by the gangs when she was just 19 years old. He was raised by his grandfather in the heart of the market district, surrounded by drugs, violence and criminality. By the time he was nine, he was already addicted to yellow glue and living daily life on the streets. He never really knew anything other than life on the streets, and that's what his life boiled down to: getting through each day in a glue-induced haze. We got to know Axel in early 2010 through our soccer ministry to street kids, and we immediately understood that God had bigger plans for him than life on the streets. He began to visit the Micah House with glue bottle in hand, along with another street kid named Miguel Angel. Finally, in the last week of March, he gave his glue bottle over to us and entered into our family. What a blessing he has been to us! Despite growing up in tremendous violence and chaos, he is capable of great compassion and joy. He brings a smile to the face of all who know him and has an easy-going spirit that brings peace to the Micah House. Check out the pictures below to see what God is doing in his life! |

Above: this picture was taken just days before Axelito (left) joined the Micah Project in March 2010. We took this picture because, left to right, we see Axel, Axel, Miguel and Miguel! |
This is the same group as the picture on the left, exactly one year later (taken in March 2011). Once off the street, Axelito began to grow like a (pudgy) weed! |

| In his first year at the Micah House, Axelito has been such a joyous child. He has an amazing ability to make connections with people and make them laugh. Here, he dances with Judy during a July 2010 mission trip. |

| Above: Axelito spent much of his time underneath one of the bridges in the market district of Tegucigalpa. In this photo, he inhales from his bottle of yellow glue in February 2010. |
Above: This photo doesn't need a caption...the misery on his face tells the story of his life on the streets. |

| Axelito made the decision to be baptized in October 2010 after giving his life to Christ earlier that year. Here, Pastor Edwin Aguilar (white shirt) gets ready to baptize him! |

Marvin Morazan and Brian Chavez have been huge influences in the lives of Miguelito and Axelito, helping them to form a Christian rap group called "Los Lil Boys". They have been able to share their testimonies through song on many occasions since then...and love doing it! Here, Miguelito, Marvin Morazan and Axelito finish sharing one of their songs at our local church in 2010. |

| Without meaning to be, Axelito is just plain funny. Here, he shows off his personality during a trip to the north coast of Honduras in January 2011. |
